Fromthereflectionofmyfriendsinpublishingcircles,mybook“EraofNewConceptCreationonNews”publishedlastyearhasbeensoldwell.Itissaidthatitisabestselleramongthesimilarbooks.Attheencouragementofthereaders,mycolleagues,especiallytheeldercolleagues,Iobviouslyhavethecouragetoagreewithrepublicationofthisbook“EraofNewConceptCreationonNews”.Ipersonallybelievethatthisoneisbetterthanthefirstedition.

Theso-calledoperationerareferstothehistoricalqualitativechangeofChinesemassmediafrommediaoperationtorunningmediainthelast20years,especiallythroughtherapiddevelopmentovertherecentdecade,asIalwaysbelieve.ThisisaprocessofcontinuousconnectionbetweenChinesemassmediaandmarketandoverallpromotion.AndIamconvincedthattheChinesemassmediaindustryandpeoplearefacingagreatera.Historyhasbeengrinningbrightlytous.Infashionablewords,thechancetofollowuphascome.Therefore,wecannothesitatealittlebit.Wemusthaveenoughintelligenceandcourageplusourunfadingintensezealandemotiontocreate,conquerandwinthegreaterawhilewinningoverourselves.Thisisthemostsincerefaithdeeplyburiedinthebook“EraofNewConceptCreationonNews”.

Inthebook“operationera”someofthespeechesduringtherecentsixyearsarecollected.Theyareallmyimpromptusindirectspeechwithoutmanuscriptsorevenoutlines,exceptforafewarticleswritteninadvance,suchasthespeechesattheworldnewspaperforum,Shanghaisummitforum,andASEANmassmediatop-levelconference.Itissaidthatsomefriendswhoreaditfirstweresomewhatexcited.Mr.ZhangXutang,formereditor-in-chiefofShanghaiWenhuiDaily,invitedbythepressforcheckingandreviewingthisbook,whomIhavenevermet,wrotehiscommentasfollows:“Theauthorisfaithfultotheparty’snewscareer.Thewordsbetweenthelinesbrimwithhissincereloveandpursuitfornewscareer,anddemonstratehissurgingenthusiasmandabundantvitalityandthecharmofhispersonalityofpersistenceandunceasingefforttoreachingthegoalofnewsreforms.Asthefirstreaderof“MediaOperationEra”–anoldmanhavingworkedonthepostofmassmediafor55years,Iwouldliketoextendmymostsinceregratitudeandheart-feltthankstotheauthor,andthankhimforhisrealisticadditionofabunchofbrightflowerstoChinesenewsundertakingsintheyearsofreformsandopening!”Iamsincerelygratefultothecourageoftheeldernewspaperman.InfactIamonlyasuccessorandlatecomeroftheirundertakings,butabitperseveringinthecareer.Iamindeedverydevotedtoit.Icanguaranteetothereadersthatwordsarethevoiceofthemind.Therearenoemptytalks,norfalsehoodinthebook.Thebookonlyrevealstheresolutionandpersistenceofamassmediamaninpromotingrapiddevelopmentofmassmedia,andcertainlysomeclevernessoftheauthor,thoughsomefriendsandcolleaguesdeemitaswisdom.Afterall,myteamandIhaveturnedthenewspaperofficewithheavylossestoanewspapergroup,gaininggoodprofitsandhavingalargespaceandthestrengthconservedforfurtherdevelopment.Insum,whatwehavedonearefairlygood.

IacknowledgeandlikethecommentinthearticleofNewWeeklyonme.Therefore,ItakethisarticleofNewWeeklyastheprefaceofthiscollectiontowhichIattachmuchimportance.Asfarasmycharactersareconcerned,Iaminfactapersonwholikestofightandcontestwithhimself.AtleastIhaveneverbeenafraidofmeetinganychallenges.Mymotherisilliterate,butheradviceevermademecontinuouslysurpassmyself,likethatthesunshinesagainaftertherain:thepersonwhoshouldhavediedinawellwouldnotdieinariver.Therefore,inmycharactersthereisalwaysakindofpleasure,resolutionandperseverance,conformingtothenaturaldevelopment.Itisveryimportanttome.IthankverymuchmyfriendsShuli,Yanping,Guoming,Heli,BeixianandPeiyufortheirsupports.IamgratefultomycolleagueGongLuluforherenergyandwisdomexertedtoeditingthisbook.Iamalsothankfultothosecomradesofphotographingdepartment,datacenter,checkingandlaserphototypesettingdepartments,fortheirsupportandassistancetome.IamluckytohavesuchateamlikeTianjinDailyNewspaperGroup.Infact,allmystrengthandimaginationofmassmediaindustryderivefromthem.Evenanablefellowneedsthehelpofthreeotherpeople.Likeafoolhavinggoodtermswitheveryone,Ialwayshavethehappinessofgettingthehelpformnoblepersonsateverycriticalmoment.
